We, the members of the S.A.F.E.R., are individuals who believe in individual rights and responsibilities, specifically those related to the use and ownership of firearms.

We also believe in the safe use of firearms in the various legal sporting and recreational activities available in the state of Wisconsin.

Because we are an organization that promotes education and safety, we must insist that all new members participate in at least one Safety Orientation per semester. The basic safety orientations are intended to protect our members (and any other persons who may be present at our shooting venues) by ensuring that every member is aware of basic firearm safety, current Wisconsin law, and any regulations local to our chosen venues.

Those who are exempted from attendance of Safety Orientation Include:

  • Members who are also members of a Sanctioned Sport Shooting Organization
  • Members who have completed Hunter's Safety Training
  • Members who have completed a Concealed Carry Certification Course
  • Members who have completed a certified firearms safety course
  • Members who are certified instructor's / trainers / coaches in any Sanctioned Shooting Sport

If in question, please contact us, and please bring your appropriate certification to any S.A.F.E.R. event for verification.

Waiver Forms

Waiver forms must be completed by all S.A.F.E.R. members (new members and old) before they will be allowed to participate in any club shooting event. Please print out a waiver form and bring it with you to the next S.A.F.E.R. event you attend (such as the Recreational Shooting events). Extra forms will be brought to all events, so if you don't have a printer, don't let that stop you from joining us. All waiver forms will be kept on file by the club.

These forms are available here for download on the Archive Page.

For obvious reasons, those whom local, state, or federal laws forbids from owning, possessing, or operating firearms are not eligible to attend S.A.F.E.R. Recreational Shoots.

For a current schedule of meetings and activities, please see our Calendar.
